Diary 11.01.07

Dear all,

Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a good holiday season. Sarah and I had a wonderful time surrounded by family, it’s just a shame it goes so quickly. Thank you to all the fans who sent me and Sarah Christmas cards; they are much appreciated.  Oh well, on to the New Year!

Well, since I finished Guys and Dolls I have been having a wonderful time. Sarah and I went on a much needed holiday to the Maldives which was amazing. We stayed on a wonderful island called Nika which I would recommend to anyone. Since getting back I have signed up to choreograph a new musical which I start a workshop on next week. It is based on the historical story of Masada and is a great project which I’m really excited about. We are hoping to rehearse it properly in May and open it in Plymouth for a limited run in the early summer.  Work has been very good since I got back, I am working at my own pace on a number of other projects, one with a very renowned producer, one of my own and various with the fabulous Lez Brotherston.  Hopefully this New Year will see at least a few of them progressing into something!  But it has been great to be able to launch myself into lots of creative ideas as it is what I really love to do, much better than repeating oneself time and again!

Just before Christmas I was invited to attend the unveiling of a statue of myself as The Swan at Sadler’s Wells by Matthew Bourne.  He has donated the statue (by Brenda Naylor) in memory of his mother to celebrate Swan Lake’s premiere at Sadler’s Wells in 1995.  I think it makes a very fitting remembrance of both June Bourne and Swan Lake and I’m extremely honoured that it is of me.  It was also a great opportunity to catch up with some friends like Matt, Will Kemp, Etta Murfitt and Arthur Pita who I hadn’t seen in a while.

I hope to have more news for you all very soon so until then…

Adam x
