Part 3

In the second part of the diary Adam told
us about the Japanese tour of Liaisons,
and in this final part he brings us back to England and up to date.

By the end of that seven weeks I was ready for a breakdown, and a big holiday. We got back to London and the first thing I had to do was a couple of meetings to discuss the future of Liaisons and do jury service for two weeks, which was perhaps the most boring thing I’ve ever done in my life and a little depressing, but I had to do it, I couldn’t get out of it this time. I tried to get out of it last year but they just delayed it for a year so I had to do it in the end. So I did my jury service and then I’ve been working again more on the future of Liaisons. While we were in Japan, the head of Sadler’s Wells came out to watch the show and he loved it and I’m so excited now that we are going to be doing Liaisons there this summer with pretty much all of the original cast, which is fantastic. We’re all very excited about it, everybody involved in the show loved it, and are really excited about doing it again, which is great for me because it means that we must have done something right!

The future: well, at the moment I’m doing Soldier’s Tale again at the Linbury Theatre in the Opera House, which is great to be revisiting that. It’s lovely to see the old pals again, Will Kemp, Matthew Hart and Zenaida Yanowsky, and of course Mr Tuckett himself. It’s been great working on this again, such a shame it’s only for five performances. It seems ridiculous that for all the work we put in we only get five shows but we can’t complain really. It’s just nice to have the chance to do it again. And then it’s back to Liaisons. We’re working on trying to organise several tours of Liaisons over the next few years, looking at many different places all over the world, so that’s really exciting. There seems to be a lot of interest in it before many people have even seen it, so that’s great, and hopefully we’ll do it justice when we do it again in London. It’ll be nice to revisit it again and hopefully lots of you will come and see it, because it’s you that we do it for and I just feel blessed that I’ve had this opportunity and even if it all stopped suddenly tomorrow, I think the achievement of Liaisons is something that I’m proud of and I’m very happy with so that’s great.

Anyway, I think I’m going to stop prattling on now, so lots to look forward to in the future, hopefully. Thank you all again for your support, especially the Japanese contingent who over the last few months have been amazing, to Karen and Jane of course on their travels and for keeping me in check, and hopefully it won’t be too long before you get the next instalment.

So, take care,
Bye!

Adam x
